Job Description
Vehicle Operation
- 1.1. Operate heavy-duty vehicles, such as trucks, trailers, or articulated lorries, to transport personnel, goods or materials according to the delivery schedule.
- 1.2. Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, using appropriate equipment and securing loads as necessary.
- 1.3. Adhere to designated routes, schedules, and delivery times, making adjustments as needed to account for traffic, weather, or other delays.
Vehicle Maintenance
- 2.1. Keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained, both inside and out.
- 2.2. Monitor the vehicle's performance, including fuel efficiency, and report any maintenance needs or concerns.
- 2.3. Schedule regular maintenance and servicing as required, coordinating with the maintenance team to minimize downtime.
- 2.4. Fully responsible for ensuring that HDVs are readily available for the operations.
Movement Coordination and Communication
- 3.1. Interact professionally with personnel, clients, and other stakeholders during movement support.
- 3.2. Address any concerns or issues related to movement in a courteous and timely manner.
- 3.3. Communicate effectively with Supervisors, dispatchers, providing updates on trips status and reporting any delays or issues.
Continuous Improvement
- 4.1. Stay informed about road conditions, traffic patterns, and relevant regulations to improve driving efficiency and safety.
- 4.2. Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance driving skills and knowledge of industry best practices.
- 4.3. Provide feedback to management on ways to improve the driving operational processes and vehicle performance.
Safety and Compliance
- 5.1. Follow all traffic laws, regulations, and company safety policies while driving.
- 5.2. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working condition, including checking tires, brakes, lights, and fluid levels.
- 5.3. Report any vehicle defects, accidents, or incidents immediately to the Fleet Manager or relevant supervisor.
- 5.4. Use, and cause personnel to use, safety equipment, such as seat belts and personal protective equipment (PPE), as required.
Documentation and reporting
- 6.1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including logbooks, fuel slips/receipts, and vehicle inspection reports.
- 6.2. Complete all required documentation for deliveries, including obtaining signatures and confirming receipt of materials/goods, etc.
- 6.3. Submit mileage reports, fuel receipts, and other relevant documents as per company procedures.
