The successful candidates will be responsible for the following duties:
- Prepare the necessary certificates or documents for issuance to applicants in respect of the registration and licensing of vessels.
- Maintain central records of ships registered or licensed.
- Assist in carrying out surveys and inspections for Tanzanian flagged vessels and foreign flagged vessels calling in Tanzanian ports.
- Assist in the process of carrying out preliminary investigations for maritime casualties or incidents.
- Assist in the preparation of certificates or detention notices to be issued to vessels.
- Ensure that individual objectives, targets, and performance standards are developed as part of the individual performance agreement in consultation with the immediate superior.
- Perform other official duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications
Applicants must be holders of a Bachelor Degree or an Advanced Diploma in one of the following fields:
- Nautical Science
- Maritime Transportation
- Marine Engineering
Applicants must also have attained one of the following:
- Certificate of Competence under STCW Regulation II/1
- Certificate of Competence under STCW Regulation III/1
- Marine Engineering in Hydrograph
