Senior SAP CAR Functional Analyst

About the role:

To serve as the functional owner and subject matter expert for SAP Customer Activity Repository (CAR) solutions within the organisation . The role is responsible for analysing business requirements, designing and configuring solutions, supporting production systems, leading problem resolution, and driving continuous improvement across SAP CAR, SAP Retail and integrated retail systems. The Senior SAP CAR Functional Analyst partners with business stakeholders, business analysts, architects and development teams to deliver stable, scalable, supportable and auditable retail solutions that meet operational, financial and strategic business requirements. The role is responsible for the analysis, design, support and optimisation of retail transaction processing across Point-of-Sale systems, SAP CAR and SAP Retail/S/4HANA, ensuring accurate , complete and auditable movement of sales, financial and inventory information throughout the retail technology landscape.

What you bring:

Minimum 5 years' experience in SAP Retail, with strong expertise in SAP CAR and POSDTA Sales Audit modules. Proven ability in Requirements Analysis, Solution Design, and SAP Integration, with at least 3 years' relevant experience. Solid understanding of Retail Transaction Processing, Inventory Management, and Inventory Valuation principles. Demonstrated knowledge of SAP HANA SQL, including proficiency in CDS Views, AMDPs, and OData Services development. Experienced in SAP CAR Configuration, Retail Master Data management, and Retail Data Reconciliation processes. Familiarity with Accounting Principles as they apply within retail environments. Strong stakeholder and incident management skills, with ability to author clear technical specifications and integration designs. Practical knowledge of IDoc and API Integration techniques for seamless SAP system connectivity. Experience working within Agile Methodology frameworks to deliver high-quality functional solution designs. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

What you'll do:

Lead the analysis, design, configuration, and support of SAP CAR landscapes to deliver robust retail solutions. Translate complex business requirements into scalable, maintainable, and high-quality functional specifications. Oversee the technical delivery process, ensuring adherence to organisational standards and Agile methodologies. Provide expert support for production operations, promptly resolving business-critical retail process issues. Mentor junior analysts, fostering capability growth and knowledge sharing within the team. Design and maintain integrations using IDocs, APIs, HTTP services, and file-based interfaces. Conduct thorough testing, defect management, and support release cycles to ensure solution stability. Lead root-cause analysis and resolution of complex incidents to minimise business disruption. Create and upkeep comprehensive documentation, including solution architecture diagrams, process flows, and runbooks. Engage effectively with business stakeholders, architects, developers, and vendors to align on solution delivery and continuous improvement initiatives.
