Duties: Job holder is the coordinator for U.S. Embassy housing. In this role job holder manages the logistics of housing assignments, advises the Interagency Housing Board (IAHB) on regulatory and technical details of assigning housing, liaises with the Department of State Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) on housing matters and waivers, and chairs the Mission’s Make-Ready Meetings that ensure housing preparations are carefully coordinated to coincide with the arrival and departure of Embassy employees. This coordination role requires excellent management skills and constant communication and coordination with several offices within the U.S. Mission as well as with incoming and outgoing embassy staff occupying the residences. Job holder also develops working relationships with landlords and/or their respective agents and management companies in a continuing dialogue to build relationships that ensure a successful housing program. Job holder is directly supervised by the General Services Officer. Job holder directly supervises six (6) staff. Housing Pool Logistics Management Job holder is the logistics liaison for housing. In this capacity, job holder maintains and updates a database of vacant homes to match incoming arrivals using the set of criteria established in 15 FAM Overseas Building Operations. Job holder gathers information from a variety of sources on new arrivals in order to assign appropriate housing. As the chair of the Mission’s Make-Ready meetings, job holder coordinates all new or updated information with the General Services Office (GSO) and Facilities Maintenance Management (FMM) partners in make-ready efforts. Works with GSO warehouse supervisor to arrange for furniture deliveries as needed in preparation for new occupants. Back to top

Must have a good working knowledge of typical American standards in houses so it can be applied to finding a house to lease that meets the U.S. Government housing standards. Skills And Abilities: Good oral and written communications skills that include customer service are required to develop and maintain effective, sustainable working relationships with the U.S. Mission customer base, Mission service providers and outside landlords and realtors for purposes of coordinating a successful housing program. Strong organizational skills are required to operate independently with limited direct supervision of day-to-day activities and to lead a results-driven make-ready program.
