Programme Officer – Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI)

WUSC is a Canadian non-profit organization working to create a better world for youth, in Canada and around the world. We bring together people and resources to deliver education, employment, and empowerment opportunities that enable young women and men to succeed. WUSC is currently seeking a Programme Officer – Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) to support the implementation of the Uniterra programme in Uganda. The Programme Officer – GESI will be responsible for providing technical support and guidance on gender equality and social inclusion across the programme portfolio. This includes supporting partners to integrate GESI considerations into their work, developing and delivering training, and contributing to knowledge management and learning. The position is based in Kampala, Uganda.

Key responsibilities include:

• Provide technical support to partners on GESI integration
• Develop and deliver GESI training and capacity building
• Support the development and implementation of GESI action plans
• Contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and learning related to GESI
• Support knowledge management and communication on GESI

Qualifications:

• A university degree in a relevant field (e.g., gender studies, development studies, social sciences)
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in gender equality and social inclusion
• Experience working with civil society organizations in Uganda
• Strong facilitation and training skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
