Job Description

Purpose of Job

  • Contribute to high‑quality business decision-making by providing fit‑for‑purpose solutions to subsurface challenges related to reservoir management.
  • Monitor well production, identify deviations from expected behaviour, determine root causes and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Plan, monitor and analyse reservoir surveillance activities, including gradient surveys, PLTs, flow build‑up tests, isochronal tests, interference tests and cased‑hole logging programmes; update the Reservoir Management Plans (RMP) accordingly.
  • Perform well and reservoir modelling and evaluate performance using software such as IPM, CMG, Kappa and Prosper.
  • Participate in PVT fluid sampling, conduct PVT analysis and perform fluid modelling.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary well reviews and contribute to the assessment of remedial and optimisation actions.
  • Collaborate with operations, facilities and asset management teams to identify solutions to reservoir‑related production issues.
  • Work closely with subsurface specialists to ensure appropriate data acquisition, processing, model building, calibration, evaluation of options and formulation of recommendations.
  • Occasionally witness field data acquisition activities and provide technical support as required in accordance with the statement of requirements.
  • Assist in both reservoir and petroleum engineering aspects of reservoir management, with a strong emphasis on petroleum engineering elements such as completions, artificial lift and well interventions.
  • Support the preparation of reservoir engineering and planning inputs for drilling and workover proposals and programmes.
  • Maintain a strong focus on SHE across all business activities.
  • The role supports business decision‑making by delivering practical petroleum and reservoir engineering solutions, including monitoring well and reservoir performance, managing well stock to meet gas nominations, maintaining production databases, running reservoir simulations, preparing short‑term production forecasts, consolidating technical documentation and leading well intervention and surveillance activities.
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a strong desire to contribute as part of a high‑performing professional team.

Key Accountabilities

  • Model wells and analyse well behaviour using techniques such as trend analysis, material‑balance calculations, nodal analysis and pressure/rate transient analysis.
  • Develop, support and update well models for workovers and infill drilling opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain project databases that store current and historical reservoir management information.
  • Integrate petroleum engineering data with other subsurface disciplines to support reservoir characterisation, stimulation design, well targeting, completion improvements and production optimisation.
  • Comply with ROAS function standards and seek technical endorsement from the appropriate functional authorities.
  • Represent company interests when engaging with regulators, partners, contractors, consultants and industry forums.
