Job Summary

The Fleet /Convey Officer's Operations supports the effective administration and management of the fleet logistics operations, coordinates the transportation of cement products and raw materials, ensuring safe and efficient delivery.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Managing the truck fleet, scheduling drivers, and overseeing logistics to maintain high customer service standards and operational efficiency.
  • Making sure a job order is placed and approved before sending any truck to the workshop for routine maintenance or repairs to ensure accountability and operational integrity.
  • Implement the Journey Management Plan for all trips to enhance operational efficiency and driver safety.
  • Organize daily and weekly Safety Toolbox meetings for drivers to reinforce safe driving practices and foster a safety culture within the organization.
  • Communicate with the Assets Unit to confirm that all truck particulars, including registration, permits, and insurance documentation, are complete and compliant with legal standards.
  • Keep an eye on the fleet tracking system (NOVA Tracker) to detect any inconsistencies regarding truck movements outside designated areas and scheduled hours.
  • Coordinate and dispatch trucks to optimize route efficiency and ensure timely deliveries, enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Track and report fleet performance metrics like CNG consumption and mileage to facilitate data-driven decision-making and operational improvements.
  • Analyse operational data to support informed decision-making, leading to optimized fleet operations.
  • Oversee and coordinate the daily activities of truck drivers, ensuring smooth operations related to loading, dispatching, and delivery processes.
  • Coordinate the timely and safe delivery of cement to depots and customers, reinforcing service reliability.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules for equipment to ensure reliability and operational readiness.
  • Implement a systematic approach to report all accidents and related incidents promptly.
  • Focus on sustaining the turnaround time (TAT) for trucks in transit to enhance overall operational efficiency.

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree / HND in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or in Transportation Management.
  • Minimum of five (2) years of experience in fleet management or inbound logistics operations.
  • Professional certification in fleet management is a plus.

Skills and Behaviors

  • Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain processes.

  • Proficient in using logistics management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Good problem-solving and analytical abilities.
