Introduction

Project Context and Scope
This position supports the IOM Data and Research Team towards the successful implementation of IOM Data research operations - related projects in Ethiopia.

Required Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Master’s degree in Development Studies, Political or Social Science, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Management, International Relations, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant experience; or Bachelor’s degree in the above fields with five years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience: Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations.
- Experience: Working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
- Knowledge: Geographic Positioning System (GPS) tools; experience in field level data collection, research, community based response approaches.
Skills
- In-depth knowledge of migration-related subject areas.
- Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming.
- Understanding of financial rules and regulations.
Languages
Fluency in English is required (oral and written). Fluency in Amharic (oral and written) and local language of duty station is a plus.

IOM covers affiliate contractors against occupational accidents and illnesses under the Compensation Plan (CP), free of charge, for the duration of the consultancy. IOM does not provide evacuation or medical insurance for reasons related to non-occupational accidents and illnesses. Affiliate contractors are responsible for their own medical insurance for non-occupational accident or illness and will be required to provide written proof of such coverage before commencing work
Appointment will be subject to certification that the candidate is medically fit for appointment, accreditation, any residency or visa requirements, security clearances.
