Job Description

RCL FOODS is a deeply rooted South African food manufacturer that produces some of the country’s most-loved brands. The purpose of the role is to maintain the General Ledger, supervise related clerks, conduct monthly reconciliations, assist with audits, and handle tax and VAT queries.

Minimum Requirements

• 3-year degree/diploma in accounting, articles preferable
• Minimum of 3 years in a general ledger or related accounting function
• Proven experience in a SAP environment
• Attention to detail
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, taxation, controls, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and Excel proficiency
• Experience working on SAP and Syspro

Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain the General Ledger
• Perform General Ledger reconciliations
• Follow up on queries and ensure timely clearing of items
• Prepare year-end schedules and intercompany account reconciliations
• Perform manual clearing on open item accounts
• Check and capture journal and accrual entries
• Manage intercompany transactions, consignment stock, and receipts
• Oversee cash book, petty cash, and bank reconciliations
• Assist commercial teams with GL analyses and compile ad hoc spreadsheets
• Support internal and external audits and manage staff
• Ensure accurate data capture and support business decision-making
• Demonstrate effective self-management, teamwork, and communication
